There are few things we at Water Gallery are more vehemently against than plastic. It's terrible for the environment, it never fully biodegrades, and it's a notoriously low-quality material. It's no secret that we are huge proponents of glass, hence our creation of a reusable glass water bottle featuring iconic art. But even we have had to use small amounts of plastic in our packaging process (to our chagrin). That said, we are thrilled to finally announce that the last small piece of plastic we've utilized for our bottles is being eliminated: the small, removable plastic seal that encloses the swing-top of our bottles.
Now that we are electing to ship our bottles empty (without water), we no longer need to add the extra plastic seal around the swing-top. Along with the many benefits of shipping our bottles empty (you can read more about that here), eliminating this last piece of plastic is truly the icing on the cake, in our view. Even the smallest piece of plastic can be detrimental to the environment, ending up in the landfill or worse, the ocean. We all know the dangers plastic poses to our ocean life, so as ardent marine life lovers and environmentalists, finally getting rid of this last piece of plastic is very gratifying for us as a company. At Water Gallery, we try to keep our natural world in mind with every personal and business decision we make-- we want to "walk the walk," not just "talk the talk."
