Over Water Gallery's first year as a company, we have learned and grown so much. When we first launched, we saw ourselves as simply an artistically beautiful glass water bottle, meant to be purchased with water and even possibly sold primarily in a restaurant setting. But over a few months' time, as our company began to gather a fan base and some significant social media attention, through feedback from customers and our own market analysis we realized we are so much more than that. Yes, we are certainly a water bottle meant to be refilled and reused over and over again. We are also an incredibly unique glass vessel showcasing iconic art. But we are something different to everyone: an art piece meant to be illuminated on a light base, a dining table centerpiece, a unique gift, a portable water bottle, a dinner party beverage serving vessel, an elegant addition to one's art collection. And through these exciting discoveries, we realized that we wanted our bottles to reflect all that Water Gallery has come to be, not just when viewing it on the front of the bottle, but also the back of the bottle.
When we first designed the back labels, they included a description of the artist and the art featured on the bottle, as well CRV (recycling) information and a bar code, since each of our bottles were being sold with water and therefore are technically in the "food and beverage" category. But over time as we learned that it actually doesn't make sense to sell our bottles filled with water (read more about our reasoning here), we started to feel like our back labels could offer so much more. Our customers don't need or want to see bar codes or CRV information-- who is going to recycle these gorgeous bottles anyway? They're meant to last and be reused for years and years, not discarded in any way! It became clear to us that we were wasting valuable "real estate" on our bottles where we could actually adorn our bottles with even more art and fascinating information about our artists and the art pieces showcased on the bottles.
And so, over time, our new back labels emerged. Instead of a utilitarian space to convey simple information, now our back labels include more iconic art from the individual artists, quotes directly from the artists, and beautiful descriptions that delve more deeply into the art itself. We are very proud to have made these exciting changes to our bottles and we believe that our Water Gallery collectors will love these new back labels-- the backs of the bottles are almost as captivating as the front now!
